Is 84PAD really free forever?
Yes. ParmTech’s commitment is to keep the official 84PAD Core, official essential plugins, themes and software updates free forever. No software subscriptions, ads or feature paywalls.
Do I pay extra for SSL, backups or SEO?
84PAD does not charge a separate fee for its official SSL management, scheduled backup or essential SEO tools. Certificate issuance depends on the hosting provider and certificate authority. Domain names, hosting, storage and optional outside services can still cost money.
Can I use my own hosting and domain?
The PHP Core edition is in development for self-hosted PHP and MySQL hosting. Its supported versions and requirements will be published with the verified release.
Can I customise themes with a visual builder?
84PAD combines theme styling with a visual Builder approach: responsive layouts, editable sections, colours, typography and global design controls. Eight distinct themes illustrate the creative range.
Can I install WordPress plugins or themes?
No. 84PAD uses its own plugin and theme architecture. Native .pad packages are designed for 84PAD compatibility; renaming a WordPress ZIP file does not make it compatible.
Is switching from another CMS difficult?
84PAD is designed to make ownership, familiar content workflows and visual editing straightforward. Migration steps depend on the site you are moving, your content types, hosting and the available import tools.
Will 84PAD show advertisements?
No. 84PAD’s official platform is designed to be ad-free. Your website remains yours, without advertising inserted by the CMS.
What about updates and security?
Official software updates are part of 84PAD’s free-forever promise. Core access controls, permission-aware integrations and native package validation are central to the architecture. As with any self-hosted website, you remain responsible for hosting and operational security.
